Wayne Rooney continues to win over American soccer supporters after scoring an absolutely brilliant free-kick for his new club DC United.
The Manchester United and England all-time top-scorer looks like he’s finally established himself as one of the MLS’s most impressive players, as defenders for Portland Timbers can testify.
DC won their latest league fixture against the Timbers 4-1 last night but Rooney’s brilliant set-piece was definitely the highlight of the match, with the former Red Devil rolling back the years to find the top corner.
From any angle, Rooney’s strike is excellent, but this particular clip caught on camera by a supporter shows the goal in a particularly special and authentic light:
Wayne Rooney still got it 🎯

He might be turning 33 in October, but it appears Rooney still has what it takes, and his form stateside begs the question – did Everton perhaps get rid of him a little bit too soon?
What do you think?
