John McGinn sang Erasure’s ‘A Little Respect’ in his Aston Villa initiation.
The former Hibs man sealed a £3million move to the English Championship outfit a day before the transfer window shut south of the border last week.
And he immediately went into Steve Bruce’s starting XI as they took on Wigan at Villa Park on Saturday.
McGinn made a big impact in that game, setting up two as Villa won 3-2 to make it a 100% start to the season.
He should make his second appearance when they play Yeovil in the Carabao Cup tonight, but first he had to go through his squad initiation at the team’s hotel before the match.
And one of his new teammates was on hand to capture footage of him singing ‘A Little Respect’ by Erasure in front of the squad:

Fair play to McGinn for giving it a go.
Now he can fully focus on making an impact for Villa in a season they hope will end with promotion to the English Premier League.
