Kyle Lafferty is a medical away from returning to Rangers, according to reports.
The Northern Irish striker has been a target for the Ibrox club for much of this summer, with the Gers having a bid for him rejected before finally persuading the Jambos to play ball.
He’s to have a medical at the club today ahead of sealing a return to Govan six years after leaving.
And here’s why fans are very excited about Lafferty’s return:
He’s Still Got it
He may have started this season with just one goal from seven games (it was against Celtic, mind you!), but last term was a very successful one for the Hearts striker. He hit 19 goals in all competitions and was a big part of the Jambos’ revival under Craig Levein.
He’s a Fans’ Favourite

Lafferty spent four years at Rangers earlier in his career and did everything to get into the good books of the supporters. Not only did he score goals and help them win trophies, he entertained them off the park and even got his own song.
He Scored Goals For Rangers
He got 38 in 138 appearances to be exact.
And He Won Trophies
Lafferty helped Rangers to three league titles, a League Cup and two Scottish Cups in his time at the club.
He Likes a Goal Against Celtic
Lafferty’s only strike of this season so far came in a 1-0 win for Hearts against Celtic at Tynecastle. He got two more against the Hoops last term and hit another against them while a Rangers player too.
