All eyes tonight, Saturday the 15th of September are resting on Las Vegas where the small matter of the WBA/WBC/IBO middleweight fight between Gennady Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be played out to a global audience. Should GGG win then those of us who are against drug cheats will feel that justice has been done as Alvarez has failed two tests for Clenbuterol. Should Alvarez win then there is an argument that his claims to always have been a clean athlete could be true… Triple G for me…

The undercard has David Lemieux at middleweight up against the highly colourful Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan – doesn’t Ireland produce things of beauty and colour! I think Spike might jut have ruffled enough feathers in Lemieux and this will be a cracker.

We also have the super welterweight WBO fight between Jamie Munuai and Brandon Cook as an appetiser which could go either way, but I like Cook.

Also tonight in Rheinland – Pfalz there is some super middleweight action in a WBC International title fight between Arni Yildrim – who was knocked out by Chris Eubank Jr in the World Boxing Super Series and Lolenga Mock. It is more of a nod to a past opponent of the WBSS than a fascinating contest but given that Jamie Cox who was also in the WBSS has fought and lost since coming out of the competition it will be interesting to see how the riches of that contest have fired up or ruined each boxer…

Also in Germany, in Schleswig- Holstein the WBO European heavyweight title will be settled between Ali Eren Demirezen and Sergeij Werwejko. Given the depth of the British heavyweight scene at the moment someone will be looking across the continent, thinking, I could have that…

Domestically in Leicester we also have 9 fights, in York Hall there are 16 fights, in Manchester no fewer than 12 fights whilst in Plymouth we have 7, in Bournemouth also 7 fights and in Nottingham a further 3 fights making this one of the busiest domestic fight nights of the year!

Tomorrow night, Sunday the 16th of September in Birmingham welterweight Frankie Gavin is back in a ticking over fight against Kevin McAuley.

At the tail end of the week on Friday the 21st of September in Brentwood there are a further 17 fights, in Southampton welterweight Harlem Eubank returns in amongst 4 contests and BIBA are in Colchester with 1 scrap.
