The 54-year-old is heading to Italian football to take up the reins at Serie A giants AC Milan, as the Rossoneri confirmed on via their twitter account this morning, having spent a controversial nine years overseeing a pretty baron spell at the Emirates.

Gazidis was often accused of penny-pinching by supporters, and was regularly accused of having little power over first-team coach Arsene Wenger, and many seemed to resent the multi-million pound salary he earned during his tenure.
Having apparently seized power of the club from Wenger in the summer, Gazidis’s decision to leave Arsenal seems to have arrived at a rather peculiar time, but Gooners everywhere seem to be absolutely delighted by the news:
Ivan Gazidis oversees substantial change @Arsenal for the first time in 22 years, then decides to leave for AC Milan? Why not stay to see the project (he started) through?

Ivan Gazidis took £20 million in wages since joining Arsenal in 2008. In that same year Spurs signed Luka Modric for £16 million.
Considering he didn't do anything for the first 9 years, would Arsenal have been better off not hiring a CEO and signing Luka Mordric instead?

Gazidis striked me as a very humble & sensible guy, but hided tremendously during tough times. But no matter what, he has left us on a good platform. Hopefully Raul & Vinai will take this club further.

Hope Gazidis' departure marks the end of an incredibly frustrating era in our club's history. Onwards and upwards from here on in 💯

Hard to see Raul not doing better on the football side of things than Gazidis, and hard to see Vinai not at least doing just as "well" on the commercial side. So, all good. pic.twitter.com/Po5zLsi4Qq

Gazidis should have been jettisoned as soon as it became apparent he was looking at Milan months back. So where is his replacement?

Gazidis is a coward

Do you think Gazidis was as bad as everyone is making out? And will Arsenal now become a lot strong in his absence?
