The Scottish referee is in charge of Celtic against Aberdeen in Glasgow this afternoon and is not a favourite of the home supporters.
That’s because their French striker Edouard is no longer playing in the game after being on the receiving end of a very touch McKenna tackle.
Footage doing the rounds on social media show it was a high and hard challenge from McKenna.
And fans who have seen it can’t believe that it wasn’t deemed a foul by Madden:
Bobby Madden thought this was a fair challenge.. pic.twitter.com/W2OZaWRLC2

How many times can Bobby Madden be allowed to referee our games? Look at the absolute state of this, didn't even batter an eyelid. pic.twitter.com/KlDd9YSBHG

Disgusting officiating by Madden. Absolutely sick this guy is allowed to continually get away with it.

How the hell is this not even a yellow never mind red/penalty (which it CLEARLY is)…Bobby Madden is something else man 🤜 pic.twitter.com/n0VEQ2TExJ

That's what we call the Bobby Madden classic.

How Bobby Madden gets away with such blatant bias against Celtic is just baffling, clear penalty and red card not even a foul, rushed Eddie off when injured but lets May stroll off. Disgusting. 🍀

No better sign of how sharp French Eddy was looking today than how little Bobby Madden was willing to protect him. Joke of a referee. #Celtic

You get the picture.
Edouard was forced to limp off before half-time and if it turns out to be a serious injury then more questions will be asked of Madden’s decision not to punish the foul.
For Celtic, an injury to Edouard would come at a bad time with RB Leipzig up on Thursday and then St Johnstone away next Sunday.
