Brendan Rodgers has talked up Celtic talent Armstrong Okoflex following his move north from Arsenal.
The Hoops manager is always on the lookout for new, exciting talent at Parkhead and the 16-year-old Irish youth international appears to fit that brief.
He joined Celtic months ago, but was officially announced as one of their new players earlier this month – and he immediately set his sights on making a first team debut as soon as possible.
Now Rodgers has spoken about Okoflex and what he brings to the club.
And the manager’s comments suggest that the young attacker is going to get an opportunity to play some first team games under him.
Rodgers spoke to the Celtic View recently and, per dailyrecord.co.uk, said: “I’ve seen a lot of Armstrong and I can see that he’s a very talented boy.
“The job for Armstrong, like it is for all really talented players, is making that transition from being a talent to being a top professional.
“He’s come here with a view of hopefully doing that. He’s at a club where he’s going to get an opportunity. You can see his qualities and his talents.
“It’s not easy, he’s only a 16-year-old boy moving up from London. But he’s adapted really well which is good to see and hopefully he’ll be able to play some games at some point soon.
“That will be another nice, exciting step for him.”
Celtic beat Arsenal to the professional signing of Okoflex so the club must really rate the youngster.
Now fans will be expecting to see him line up in the green and white despite how young he is.
There will be opportunities this season too as Rodgers had to deal with losing some key players during the summer without signing replacements for all of them.
