Dundee Fail in Kenny Miller Red Card Appeal.. and No One is Surprised

Dundee have failed in their appeal of Kenny Miller’s red card against Rangers at the weekend – and no one is surprised.

The Dens Park outfit had a miserable visit to Ibrox on Saturday to face Steven Gerrard’s side in the Scottish Premiership.

Sitting rock bottom of the table with zero points from four games, Neil McCann’s team would have been hoping to get a surprise result for their first points of the season.

But that didn’t happen, with Dundee losing 4-0 in a one-sided affair that also saw Miller sent off 10 minutes from the end.

Miller was sent packing for a late tackle on Borna Barisic, but replays showed he was maybe unfair to get a straight red from referee Kevin Clancy.

So you could understand Dundee deciding to appeal the red card with the SFA.

Unfortunately for the Dees, they’ve failed in that appeal and Miller is now set to serve a ban just weeks after joining the club.

That was confirmed this morning:

Given the criticism of the SFA over recent weeks for a number of decisions they’ve made, it isn’t coming as a surprise to many Scottish football fans:

Should Miller’s red card have been overturned?
