Liam Henderson Scores First Goal For Hellas Verona in Serie B

Liam Henderson has scored his first goal for Hellas Verona in Serie B.

The former Celtic and Hibs midfielder is now continuing his career in Italy after leaving British football for Serie B with Bari at the start of the year.

Henderson made 18 appearances for them and almost led them to promotion to the Serie A via the playoffs.

But financial difficulties forced Henderson’s early exit from Bari – and Hellas Verona moved quickly to sign the midfielder.

Henderson had been unable to score in his first five games going into today’s clash with Crotone.

Now he’s off the mark though, hitting the back of the net in the first half of their Serie B clash:

We’ve been unable to source footage of Henderson’s goal yet, but we’ll make sure to bring it to you as soon as we do.

Henderson is taking to life in Italy well and results suggest Hellas are serious about getting promoted to Serie A this season.

They’re currently top of Serie B with a one-point lead, but could extend that if results go their way today.
