Mikael Lustig Included in Europa League Team of the Week.. at Left Back

Mikael Lustig has been included in the official Europa League Team of the Week.

The Celtic defender was part of the team that beat Rosenborg 1-0 last night, courtesy of a Leigh Griffiths winner at the death.

It wasn’t the best performance by the Hoops as they were frustrated for much of the night by their Norwegian opponents.

But apparently Lustig was one of the star performers, earning a spot in the Team of the Week released this afternoon by the Europa League:

What’s odd is that Lustig appears to be lining up at left back – with Kieran Tierney nowhere to be seen despite putting in a man of the match performance for Celtic.

Even Borna Barisic could be in with a shout for inclusion after his display in Rangers’ 2-2 draw away at Villarreal.

He produced a pivotal assist for Kyle Lafferty’s equaliser on the night, a goal that helped Steven Gerrard’s men get a well-earned point to open their Europa League campaign.
