Alfredo Morelos missed a bad sitter on his Colombia debut last night.
The Rangers striker got a call-up to the Colombian national team after continuing his strong form at Ibrox throughout the beginning of the season.
He may have wondered if the shock exit of Jose Pekerman as manager would dent his chances of playing in their friendly away at Venezuela last night.
But it have any impact as he got 13 minutes off the bench after replacing Falcao in the 73rd-minute.
Colombia won the game 2-1 and the achievement of playing for his country is something Morelos will be delighted with.
Yet the Rangers striker could have made a dream start to life with Colombia after being presented with a golden chance to put them ahead shortly after coming on:

Fortunately for Morelos, Yimmi Chara scored a 90th-minute winner to spare his blushes. But that’s a chance the Rangers man should be finishing easily.
Morelos may get another opportunity to open his account for Colombia when they take on Argentina in another friendly on Wednesday.
