It was reported a week ago that Arter – who is currently on loan at Cardiff from Bournemouth – had pulled out of the Ireland squad for their games with Wales and Poland after a fallout with Keane.
No further details were given on that, but social media is rife with rumours about why the pair clashed.
And now there’s a recording doing the rounds which allegedly has Ireland defender Ward detailing just what went on between them.
Apparently Keane lost it with Arter because he was going to miss training with an injury:
Ireland in a bit of turmoil following Harry Arter leaving their squad. Apparently Roy Keane went mental at the Bournemouth midfielder.
This is allegedly his teammate Stephen Ward talking about the incident..

It’s not been confirmed if that is Ward’s voice – or where this recording has even come from. As far as we can see, Ward hasn’t spoken to the press about the situation.
He isn’t actually in the Irish squad either as he had to withdraw through injury.
But the voice sounds very similar to his – as you can hear in this interview with Ward from last year:
If this proves to be true then it doesn’t reflect well on Keane, who is never far away from controversy.
He assists Martin O’Neill in the Irish national team and it remains to be seen how the former Celtic manager will deal with the situation.
