Daniel Sturridge re-announced himself as a serious striking option for Liverpool this evening – but he had an absolutely brilliant cross from Andy Robertson to thank for his opening goal against PSG.
The Reds hosted the cash-rich Parisians at Anfield in tonight’s group stage opener at Anfield, and the omission of Roberto Firmino looked like it might cause problems for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Sturridge hadn’t started a game so far this season, and spent the second-half of last season on-loan at West Brom, but the England international didn’t take too long to get back into the swing of things.
The 29-year-old popped up with a trademark poacher’s header in the 30th minute to make it 1-0 – but just look at the inch-perfect assist from Scotland international Robertson:

Not too shabby, eh? Are there many better left-backs playing in Europe at the moment?
What do you think?
