Anthony Stokes scored four goals in Tractor Sazi‘s heavy 6-0 win over Esteghlal Khuzestan.
The former Celtic, Falkirk and Hibs striker is currently out in Iran playing for the big-spending team led by ex-Wales manager John Toshack.
And he’s made some start to life there, hitting the net three times in his first six games before the superb return earlier today.
Stokes was well known for scoring goals in Scottish football, but was never able to score four in one game – as he confirmed on Instagram after today’s game:
Stokes was clinical with his goals, first scoring from the edge of the box before producing two brilliant finishes and then getting slightly lucky for his fourth.
But they all showed exactly why Stokes was signed for big money by Tractor Sazi:
Tractor Sazi currently sit sixth in the Persian Gulf Pro League, but that should change between now and the end of the season if Stokes can keep up this lethal form in front of goal.
