Video: Daniel Sturridge Continues His Liverpool Renaissance with Overhead-Kick v Chelsea

Daniel Sturridge continued his Liverpool renaissance this evening by finding the net against Chelsea in the EFL Cup at Anfield.

The England international looked like his Anfield career was dead and buried last January when he left the Reds for a disastrous loan spell at West Brom, who went on to be relegated at the end of the season.

A permanent transfer to a smaller club seemed certain for Sturridge, who has struggled with a plethora of injuries since Jurgen Klopp arrived at the club in 2015.

But the 29-year-old has worked hard to get back into the reckoning, and his excellent poacher’s header against PSG last midweek marked his return as a serious option for Klopp.

And tonight the ex-Man City striker continued his fightback by reacting quickest to a rebounded Naby Keita effort:
