The Hoops went into tonight’s Betfred Cup quart-final away to St Johnstone off the back of their worst league start for more than 20 years, and the tie took on even more importance than usual in the wake of Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock.
After missing a host of chances in the second-half, it looked like the Saints were about to force extra-time against Rodgers’ men, but in the 83rd minute, Griffiths popped up inside the box to grab the only goal of the game, and send his stuttering side into the last-four:
Leigh Griffiths to the rescue! 🙌
A massive goal, and badly needed!

The drama wasn’t over there though, with Dedryck Boyata sent off in stoppage time for a show of dissent towards ref John Beaton, but the win was all that mattered for Celtic.
What do you think of the win?
