Liam Henderson popped up with his first-ever goal for Hellas Verona yesterday as the Scotland Under-21 international enjoys his Italian adventure.
The former Celtic and Hibs midfielder is now continuing his career in Italy after leaving British football for Serie B with Bari at the start of the year.
Henderson made 18 appearances for Bari and almost led them to promotion to the Serie A via the playoffs last season, and now seems intent on going the entire distance with Verona.
Yesterday, the side from Veneto travelled to promotion rivals Crotone and set about inflicting a seriously damaging result on one of their closest competitors.
And Henderson was key to the 2-1 victory, as he found the net in the 14th minute, before Santiago Colombatto made it 2-0 just before the hour mark.
Marco Firenze pulled one back for Crotone but it wasn’t enough, and Henderson was able to enjoy his first goal along with all three points:
Given his extended run of good form in Italy, could Henderson soon be receiving a Scotland call-up to the senior squad?
What do you think?
