Arsene Wenger Claims Fans Will Soon be Voting For Half-Time Substitutions on Social Media

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has some interesting opinions on where football in the 21st century is heading, and he reckons we’re not too far away from having an X Factor-style vote during Premier League games.

In the early stages of his career, the Frenchman was renowned as possessing something resembling a clairvoyant quality, as he plucked youthful gem after youthful gem from some of football’s biggest clubs.

However, if he’s right about his next tip, English football could look very different.

Having been manager of the Gunners – one of the most heavily scrutinised teams on British social media – he knows a thing or two about young fans today, and speaking at yesterday’s Sports Innovation Summit in Paris, Wenger explained some of his thoughts surrounding the future of the Beautiful Game:
