Brendan Rodgers has given Celtic fans a positive update on Filip Benkovic.
The Hoops manager will be disappointed after his side’s poor 3-1 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League last night.
Celtic had led in the game courtesy of Odsonne Edouard’s early goal.
But they were unable to build on that, with Salzburg’s quality proving too much for them, particularly in the second half.
Now Rodgers’ attention will turn to Celtic’s clash with St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday – and he’s provided supporters with a positive update on Benkovic.
The Croatian defender has been missing since feeling a tweak in his Achilles before Celtic’s defeat to Kilmarnock last month.
But he could be set to return on Sunday:

That’s good news for Celtic as they’ve looked weak at centre back without players like Filip Benkovic, Kristoffer Ajer and Jozo Simunovic.
Benkovic may not be fit enough to start on Sunday, but his return to the squad would be a big boost going into the international break.
