Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been named amongst some of the biggest names in world football in the 40-man shortlist for the prestigious Golden Boy Award.
The gong is given out to the player heralded the best under-21 player in the game over the past 12 months, and former Hoops forward Moussa Dembele has been nominated in previous years.
But Edouard’s exploits for the Premiership champions over the last year have seen him given the nod on the 2018 list, with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappé the red hot favourite to come out on top for the second successive year.

Edouard – who is still only 20 – has bagged 11 goals throughout the calendar year, and his finish to the 2017/18 campaign persuaded the Hoops hierarchy to fork out a reported £9 million to sign him permanently from PSG in the summer.
Also included on the shortlist is Man City youngster Phil Foden, Everton’s Tom Davies and Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot.
It’s pretty unlikely that Edouard will win, but having a player from the Scottish Premiership included in a group of this calibre is still a pretty impressive achievement, right?
