Mulumbu was handed his first European start for the Hoops in Austria after skipper Scott Brown withdrew through injury, and it looked like Mulumbu would be collecting three points when Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring after just two minutes, but second-half goals from Munas Dabbur (two) and Takumi Minamino condemned the Premiership champions to a 3-1 defeat.
As we told you earlier, Mulumbu was praised for his performance by Celtic supporters but the former Kilmarnock and West Brom midfielder didn’t seem particularly happy when he took to social media not too long after the final whistle:
Tonight result doesn’t reflect the commitment and effort we put for match and for my first start in E.L this defeat has a bitter taste. But it’s not over yet and we’ll work even harder to get the righ result in the next games and qualify for the next phase.#comeonyouBhoys 🍀⚪💚 pic.twitter.com/AHa6X0W8Q0
