Celtic’s Youssouf Mulumbu Says Red Bull Salzburg Defeat Has Left a ‘Bitter Taste’

Celtic midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has admitted the club’s Europa League defeat in Salzburg on Thursday evening has left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Mulumbu was handed his first European start for the Hoops in Austria after skipper Scott Brown withdrew through injury, and it looked like Mulumbu would be collecting three points when Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring after just two minutes, but second-half goals from Munas Dabbur (two) and Takumi Minamino condemned the Premiership champions to a 3-1 defeat.

As we told you earlier, Mulumbu was praised for his performance by Celtic supporters but the former Kilmarnock and West Brom midfielder didn’t seem particularly happy when he took to social media not too long after the final whistle:

Celtic now face a double-header against Bundesliga cracks RB Leipzig, as Brendan Rodgers’ men attempt to keep alive their hopes of reaching the competition’s knockout phase.
