Dedryck Boyata Literally Claps Back at Fan Who Criticised His Leipzig Performance

Dedryck Boyata clapped back at a fan online who criticised his performance against RB Leipzig last night.

The Celtic defender was part of the team that lost 2-0 to the Bundesliga side in the Europa League out in Germany.

Brendan Rodgers’ team actually started the game well, but two mistakes in quick succession had them trailing by two going into half-time and they were never really able to recover.

Boyata was involved in the first mistake, misjudging a cross after it baffled Kouassi Eboue in close attendance. The ball ended up at Leipzig attacker Matheus Cunha who made no mistake with the finish.

But does Boyata deserve criticism for that? Does he deserve criticism for any of his performance?

One fan thought so – and responded to the Belgian on Instagram last night to let him know.

Boyata literally clapped back at him for the response:

The fan is, of course, referencing Celtic’s Champions League qualifying defeat to AEK Athens earlier this season.

Boyata played no part at the time, with reports saying he was unhappy and not fit to play after a summer move away from the club failed to materialise.
