Karamoko Dembele Scores on Debut For Celtic Reserves in Glasgow Cup

Karamoko Dembele‘s assent through the ranks at Celtic continued today as he started for the club’s reserve side in the Glasgow Cup against Partick Thistle – and quickly found the back of the net.

The attacking midfielder has been on the radar of every top scout in Europe ever since he was called into the Celtic Under-20 squad at the tender age of just 13, and has gone on to represent both the English and Scottish national sides at youth level.

With his 16th birthday looming on the horizon in February, Dembele has been given the opportunity to show what he can do in the club’s reserve team, alongside Jack Aitchison and Armstrong Okoflex.

Not only was Dembele given the promotion to the reserves, he was actually given the nod to start this afternoon’s clash at Lennoxtown:

And it wasn’t long before the wonderkid was showing exactly what he could do:

Dembele has continued to enhance his reputation as one of British football’s most promising young players throughout 2018 after playing a crucial role in Scotland’s Under-17 win over Russia in Spain in August, and now it appears he’s not a million miles away from winning a place in Brendan Rodgers’ first-team.
