Former England striker Crouch is known for being a light-hearted figure within football, and it’s pretty hard to imagine him upsetting or getting under the skin of any of his opponents.
But it seems Crouchie came across Muscat when he’d got out of the wrong side of bed one morning, as he explained in the latest episode of his very own podcast.
Muscat, who spent one season at Rangers and helped the club win a domestic treble in 2003, was renowned in British football for being a bit of hard man after his five-year spell at Wolves, and Crouch explained: “Kevin Muscat scared me.
“You know people say, ‘I’m going to break your legs’, when he would say it you genuinely believed him.”
Muscat is now in management, and in charge of Melbourne Victory in his homeland, but where do you think he ranks in the all-time list of hard men to play in Scottish football?
