McLeish had named Hoops forward Griffiths in his group to face Israel and Portugal this week, only for the 28-year-old to withdraw, citing his need to work on his own fitness.
Griffiths clearly wasn’t injured after playing more than an hour against St. Johnstone the previous day, and it seems that whilst McLeish is keen to stress there’s been no fallout, he won’t offer any assurances over his future squads:
Scotland manager Alex McLeish won't throw Leigh Griffiths "under a bus" after the Celtic striker withdrew from the squad.

Given he’s undoubtedly one of Scotland’s best strikers – if not the best – is McLeish cutting off his nose to spite his face here?
Surely he could’ve said he’d be happy to count on Griffiths in the future, if his fitness levels are right?
What do you think?
