Video: Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka Scores An Absolute Screamer of a Free-Kick Against Crystal Palace

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka scored a contender for goal of the season this afternoon against Crystal Palace, after finding the top corner from an excellent free-kick.

The Swiss international was actually deployed at left-back for the Gunners this afternoon in the absence of Nacho Monreal, with manager Unai Emery looking to make it an impressive 12 consecutive wins in all competitions.

Palace went into the break 1-0 ahead at Selhurst Park after a cool penalty from Luka Milivojevic but it wasn’t long into the second-half when the North Londoners levelled – and it was done in pretty spectacular style, as Xhaka showed off his hammer of a left-foot:

That’s the 26-year-old’s second goal of the campaign and there’s no doubt he’s been one of the improved players under new boss Emery.

Could he go on to become the key player Arsenal fans hoped he’d be when he first joined the club in 2016? What do you think?
