Video: Brendan Rodgers Admits His Celtic Squad is Too Bloated and Could be ‘Detrimental’

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted his Celtic squad is too big and needs trimmed – and even acknowledged the size could have be detrimental to on-pitch performances.

The Hoops sent out an emphatic message to the rest of the Scottish Premiership this afternoon by hammering a sorry St Johnstone side 6-0 at McDiarmid Park, with James Forrest bagging a stunning four goals all in the first-half.

The result leaves Celtic three points behind leaders Hearts, with a meeting with Craig Levein’s side looming on the horizon, but Rodgers has other concerns, as he explained before this afternoon’s kick-off when speaking to BT Sport:

Given most Celtic fans would accept a new striker is needed to replace Moussa Dembele, and probably a right-back for the ageing Mikael Lustig, where exactly needs to be whittled down?

Can you think of a list of specific players Rodgers should be trying to move on?
