It looked like the Hoops were on their way to a positive result in Austria after Odsonne Edouard coolly put them ahead after just two minutes, and the lead was still intact at the half-time break.
However, the Austrian champions came roaring back into the game in the second-half, and a brace from Israel striker Munas Dabbur, as well as a clever finish from Japanese international Takumi Minamino, secured all three points for the home side.
Afterwards, Rodgers didn’t try to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes, and happily admitted his team need to learn how to hold onto the ball a lot better, as well as being a bit more ruthless when it comes to defending on the European stage:
Speaking after @CelticFC's defeat Brendan Rodgers said: 'We gave away disappointing goals, that was the frustration for us. From that they gained confidence. We didn't retain the ball well enough either. It was a disappointing result for us in the end.'
