Video: Brendan Rodgers Criticises Celtic’s Ball Retention and Poor Defending After Salzburg Loss

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has criticised his players’ ball retention and level of defending following tonight’s 3-1 defeat against Red Bull Salzburg.

It looked like the Hoops were on their way to a positive result in Austria after Odsonne Edouard coolly put them ahead after just two minutes, and the lead was still intact at the half-time break.

However, the Austrian champions came roaring back into the game in the second-half, and a brace from Israel striker Munas Dabbur, as well as a clever finish from Japanese international Takumi Minamino, secured all three points for the home side.

Afterwards, Rodgers didn’t try to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes, and happily admitted his team need to learn how to hold onto the ball a lot better, as well as being a bit more ruthless when it comes to defending on the European stage:

What do you think of Celtic’s display tonight, and will they qualify from their group?
