Video: Duke Roufus Explains Why He’s Been Coaching in Celtic Shirts Ahead of UFC 229

Legendary MMA coach Duke Roufus has explained why he’s been training some of UFC’s best-known fighters in Celtic jerseys this week, ahead of Saturday night’s UFC 229 in Las Vegas.

As we told you yesterday, Roufus was spotted in UFC’s YouTube series Embedded wearing the Hoops’ current third kit whilst putting Anthony Pettis through his paces, and he followed that up by turning up for another session in the club’s dark green training shirt.

Roufus’s link to the Premiership champions was a bit of a mystery to us at first, but the 48-year-old American has finally explained his connection to Brendan Rodgers’ side in this pretty entertaining clip:

Roufus has trained Tyron Woodley in the past, and will guide Pettis during his showdown with Tony Ferguson inside the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night – before Conor McGregor squares-off against the unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov.

What do you make of the clip, and does Duke Roufus suddenly have some new fans in Scotland?
