Ruben Loftus-Cheek made a big pitch for a regular starting berth in the Chelsea line-up tonight by scoring an impressive hat-trick in the Europa League.

The Blues hosted BATE Borisov as they looked to put one foot in the knockout stages with a comfortable win, and they didn’t have to wait too long for the opening goal.

Loftus-Cheek has struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s team in the Premier League this season, and has been used mainly in cup games, but tonight was a real sign he could be about to change all that.

The England international scored in the second, eighth and 54th minute, helping secure all three points for the Blues, and whilst Sarri will now have one eye on the last-32, the highlight of the night was definitely Loftus-Cheek’s display.

Do you think the 22-year-old deserves more of an opportunity in the Premier League?

And should he perhaps consider moving on if he can’t break in?
