With Scotland falling to a humiliating 2-1 defeat in Haifa last night… Israel international Nir Bitton immediately took to Instagram to tease his Celtic team-mate Scott Brown.
Alex McLeish’s side looked strong in the opening half an hour, with Blackburn defender Charlie Mulgrew giving Scotland a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot heading into half-time.
However, it wasn’t to last.
The Israeli’s took a strangle hold of proceedings after the break and were a constant threat, culminating in two goals and a red card being shown to Hearts defender John Souttar.
Regrettably, former Scotland skipper Brown decided to share a video of Mulgrew’s spot-kick on Instagram while the visitors were in the ascendancy.
He even cheekily tagged Bitton in the post:
Unfortunately, it came back to haunt the 33-year-old.
Bitton quickly returned fire via his own account, after Kieran Tierney’s own goal gifted Israel a deserved victory:
Bitton played no part in the UEFA Nations League game, as he’s currently out with a long-term knee problem.
We’re sure that won’t stop Brown from putting the boot in when the pair get back to Lennoxtown though!
