Celtic got off to the perfect start in their Europa League fixture in Austria this evening, with Odsonne Edouard giving his side the lead after just less than two minutes.
The Hoops travelled to take on Red Bull Salzburg, who boast a pretty formidable home record and are close to going two full years undefeated in their home stadium.
The Austrians also managed to see off Bundesliga cracks RB Leipzig in their opening fixture, but they were quickly undone tonight.
A long ball over the top from Callum McGregor caused problems for the Salzburg defence, and the bouncing ball was quickly pounced upon by the hungry Edouard, who coolly slotted the ball past the helpless goalkeeper:
It’s worth remembering that Salzburg went all the way to the semi-finals of this competition last season, and were unlucky not to reach the final.
But how far can Brendan Rodgers’ side go in the Europa League this year?
