Video: Rangers Captain James Tavernier Apologises For ‘Not Good Enough’ Performance

Rangers skipper James Tavernier has apologised to the club’s supporters after yesterday’s defeat to Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup semi-finals, deeming the display ‘not good enough’.

Steven Gerrard’s men went into the game at Hampden as favourites to progress to the final but Lewis Ferguson’s solitary goal with 10 minutes to go was enough to hand the Dons victory.

The result means Rangers have now lost five consecutive domestic semi-finals, and without scoring a goal in any of the matches, and that’s simply unacceptable for Tavernier’s standards.

Rangers will now face Kilmarnock in the Premiership on Wednesday night in their next match, whilst Aberdeen have booked a spot back at Hampden for the final against Celtic on December 2.

What do you make of Tavernier’s apology? Is he correct in deeming yesterday’s display as simply not good enough? And how was his personal performance in the match?
