Video: Rio Ferdinand Tips Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold to Become a Midfielder

Rio Ferdinand has tipped Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold to develop into a top midfield player, as the 20-year-old continues to flourish in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Alexander-Arnold broke into the Reds’ first-team last season and has made the right-back slot his own more or less ever since, which resulted in him being called-up to the England squad for the World Cup finals in Russia last summer.

But with Joe Gomez also impressing Klopp as an option for right-back, BT Pundit Ferdinand is of the opinion Alexander-Arnold possesses all of the talent and technical abilities to be pushed further up the pitch in the coming seasons:

Alexander-Arnold starts for Liverpool in tonight’s Champions League group game against Red Star Belgrade at Anfield tonight, in his usual right-back role, but do you think Ferdinand has a point about his versatility?

Is Alexander-Arnold really a right-midfielder in waiting?
