Premier League new boys Wolves are on the lookout for even more additions to their already bolstered squad, and the club’s hierarchy have claimed they’re keeping tabs on thousands of different players – literally.
Having won last season’s Championship at a canter, Wolves have made a blistering start to life in the top-flight, and currently sit in ninth position, ahead of Manchester United.
Their impressive form has been in no small part down to their relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, who has helped facilitate the transfers of talents such as João Moutinho and Ruben Neves.
And it looks like there will be more big-money arrival in January and next summer, according to sporting director Kevin Thelwell, who told the Express and Star: “We are getting reports on approximately 5,000 players a month – it’s becoming a big process.
“We are not just crossing our fingers and hoping we can get the very best out of him or make something out of someone.
“It makes it very exciting to be searching through a high quantity of players.
“We are still some way from making hard and fast decisions (about January). The windows are very tough but I’m not complaining.”
It seems no stones are being left unturned at the Midlands side but does 5,000 players every months seem a little excessive to you? How on Earth can they possibly keep track of all of these?!
What do you think?
