Video: Brendan Rodgers Declares Leipzig Win His Best European Victory as Celtic Boss

Brendan Rodgers has declared his side’s victory over RB Leipzig as the finest win in European competition since he took over at Parkhead in the summer of 2016.

The Hoops went into tonight’s Europa League group stage tie knowing the needed three points to realistically keep alive their hopes of reaching the competition’s knockout phase, and they didn’t have to wait long for the opening goal.

Kieran Tierney pounced to fire them ahead on 11 minutes, and Odsonne Edouard scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute to secure a 2-1 victory – and leave Rodgers absolutely beaming.

Speaking to the media after the full-time whistle, the Bhoys boss was effusive in his praise of his players, as well as the club’s rapturous supporters:
