Celtic captain Scott Brown has reignited his feud with Joey Barton after trolling the ex-Rangers midfielder during a question and answer session with supporters.
When Barton arrived at Ibrox back in the summer of 2016, he quickly attempted to put Brown in his place by insisting the Hoops skipper wasn’t in his league – but was quickly left regretting his jibes after a Brown-inspired Celtic thumped Rangers 5-1 in the first Old Firm meeting of that season.
All in all, Barton’s stay in Glasgow was a pretty disastrous one, and he was back in English football after only a few months, leaving Brown with all of the bragging rights.
And the 33-year-old is still definitely enjoying them, as Celtic TV viewers found out today.
One contributor sent in a question asking: “How many times a day do you let Joey Barton out of your pocket for fresh air?”
After a chuckle, Brown simply responded: ““Joey’s still in my pocket.”
Now manager of Fleetwood Town in England’s League One, we don’t imagine Barton will be following Scottish football too closely, but he usually can’t help himself when it comes to replying to digs like this.
We’ll be waiting anxiously to see if he responds soon.
