Kante has established himself as one of the world’s best holding midfield players over the last three seasons but has found himself playing on the right of a midfield three a lot of the time under Sarri, and the weekend’s loss was no different.
Summer signing Jorginho was used in the centre of midfield but was constantly crowded out by Spurs’ relentless high-octane pressing style, and many pundits and fans were left wondering why Kante has been shunted out of position.
But speaking to the media before tomorrow night’s Europa League clash with PAOK at Stamford Bridge, the Italian coach was emphatic in his response, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be changing his ethos any time soon:
"Our centre midfielder is Jorginho or Fabregas. I don't want Kante there."

What do you think of Sarri’s comments? Is it ludicrous to play Kante slightly out of position, or should a player of his quality still be effective?
