The Jambos boss watched on helplessly from the sidelines as the Hoops ran riot in-front of a rapturous home support, with Odsonne Edouard scoring twice, and Ryan Christie, Filip Benkovic and James Forrest all scoring in the 5-0 thrashing.
It was the second time in a week that Hearts have lost to Celtic, following the 3-0 Betfred Cup semi-final defeat at Hampden last weekend, and it seems Levein didn’t learn much from his recent encounter with the Premiership champions.
To his credit, Levein didn’t make any excuses when speaking to the media after the full-time whistle, and was quick to hold his hands up:
Craig Levein calls himself an ‘idiot’ for setting up to defend in their 5-0 loss to Celtic.
The Hearts boss blames his tactics and says he never gave his players a chance to win the game.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, via Inside Futbol, Levein added: “The manager’s not the brightest.
“I made a decision today to try and frustrate Celtic and try and hit them on the counter-attack, but we were far too passive and I got it wrong.
“I felt actually, although we lost two goals in the second-half, I actually felt much better.
“To be fair to them, they ran their socks off and put in a much better performance.
“Rather than try to be clever next time, I’ll just leave it as is.
“It’s my fault, I apologise to the supporters.”
What do you think of the comments, and are Hearts still viable title contenders?
