Daniel Arzani gave Celtic fans an update on his knee injury late last night – and it doesn’t look good.
The Australian winger made his long-awaited debut for the Hoops at Dens Park last night, replacing Odsonne Edouard just before the hour mark.
His breakthrough into the Celtic team has been delayed due to Brendan Rodgers’ slow approach to getting him accustomed to Scottish football.
And that looked to have paid off, with Arzani putting in a brilliant 20-minute performance before going down with an injury in the 80th minute.
His display of attacking quality was promising for Celtic and supporters – but his injury is a big frustration considering how long he’s had to wait to get his chance.
Arzani was stretchered off and Rodgers offered no real update on the state of his injury while speaking post-match.
Fans would have been hoping the Australian’s injury isn’t as serious as it first looked.
But he’s shared an update on Instagram – and it doesn’t look good.
Arzani posted on his Instagram Story a short video that showed him wearing a knee brace at the bottom of a staircase, while asking fans if he could ‘make it’ up them:
That looks like he’s still actually wearing his Celtic kit, doesn’t it?
Although no official word of Arzani’s injury has been released, that picture above suggests he’s set to miss quite a bit of time out.
The Aussie winger also took to Instagram shortly after to thank supporters for all the well wishes they’ve been sending him since the injury:
Celtic are next in action against Hearts on Saturday and they’ll be hoping their strong recent form domestically can continue against the league leaders.
