Dedryck Boyata Slated For His ‘Awful’ Belgium Performance Against Switzerland

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata has been hammered for his latest display for Belgium, after the Red Devils dramatically missed out on winning their Nations League group last night.

As the No.1 ranked country in the world at the moment, the Belgians were expected to sweep aside Iceland and Switzerland to top Group 2 but managed to throw away a lead against the Swiss in Geneva last night.

In the end, a hat-trick from Benfica striker Haris Seferović sealed Switzerland a  5-2 victory and saw them triumph as surprise group winners – meaning they will advance to the Nations League knockout phases, whilst the Belgians will be forced to watch at home.

To be fair, it wasn’t a brilliant display from anyone in a Belgium kit, but it seems Boyata is taking the brunt of the blame for the horrific result, with fans and onlookers on social media brutally laying into the centre-back:

What do you think of Boyata’s performance for his country, and is there any chance he’ll still be a Celtic player next season?
