City swept aside bitter rivals Manchester United in yesterday’s derby match at the Etihad, taking them to the top of the Premier League and two points ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
However, whilst the Sky Blues were landing a blow on the pitch, Liverpool were landing one off it, by managing to secure the services of Head Physio Lee Nobes, according to website Training Ground Guru.
Apparently, Nobes said his goodbyes to his colleagues at the Etihad yesterday after 11 years at the club, after joining from Oldham back in 2007, and is said to be widely respected at the club, particularly by Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola endured a series of fall-outs over the standard of physios at previous club Bayern Munich, and wouldn’t be afraid to hold back if he thought the club wasn’t up to scratch in any of the medical departments.
Nobes featured prominently in the recent Amazon Prime documentary All or Nothing, which covered City’s 2017/18 title winning campaign and will reportedly start his new role with Liverpool on November 26, after the international break.
