Nobody Can Believe Fabian Delph is Going to be England Captain Tomorrow Night

Fabian Delph is going to captain England for the first time tomorrow night, leaving quite a lot of Three Lions supporters scratching their heads at the decision.

The Manchester City midfielder has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squads since he took over, and was included in the 2018 World Cup squad in Russia, probably due to his versatility and experience.

However, Delph hasn’t been getting much of a game for his club, and after sitting out Sunday’s Manchester Derby at the Etihad, the 28-year-old has now made just three Premier League appearances this season.

Despite this, he’ll pull on the skipper’s armband for the friendly against the USA at Wembley, as Southgate confirmed earlier today, leaving plenty of fans more than a little miffed:

He might not be the greatest player in the world, but has Delph really done enough to be considered captain material for the England team?
