Tottenham were without first-choice goalie Hugo Lloris for tonight’s Champions League tie with PSV – but it seems the club’s supporters were actually happier to have Paulo Gazzaniga between the sticks.
France captain Lloris was suspended for the visit of the Dutch league leaders after being sent off against the same opponents two weeks ago, and Gazzaniga was preferred to usual second-choice stopper Michel Vorm by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite conceding after just 62 seconds, Spurs fans have been impressed with the 26-year-old Argentine’s showing tonight, and given Lloris has struggled for form this season, plenty reckon it could be time for a more permanent switch

Gazzaniga is a better goalkeeper than Lloris.

Gazzaniga is spurs future starting keeper with what seems lloris’ permanent concussion, and we need replacements for a declining wanyama, dembele and alderweireld and let’s not talk about aurier… #COYS

Gazzaniga has played just three Premier League matches since arriving at the North London club back in the summer of 2017, but he was undeniably in good form tonight, pulling off several eye-catching saves.
Do you think Lloris should be worried about his spot?
