Rafael van der Vaart got in on the Harry Redknapp I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here banter with a brilliant tweet this afternoon.
The former Tottenham attacking midfielder only recently announced his retirement from the game, ending it after a brief spell in Denmark with Esbjerg.
He’ll now focus on work outside of the game, either in coaching or punditry – or as a social media star if he keeps up this kind of patter.
It was today confirmed that his former Spurs manager Redknapp will go into the jungle as part of the I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here cast this year.

Redknapp had been rumoured as a contestant on this year’s hit ITV show, but it wasn’t until today that it was confirmed.
That’s led to all sorts of jokes about him taking Niko Kranjcar and Jermain Defoe in as his luxury items, while other former favourites like Peter Crouch and Benjani have been mentioned too.
But van der Vaart’s reaction to the news is the best yet:
Oh I should’ve never announced my retirement… pic.twitter.com/wKOs8fSKnQ
