Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has hailed tonight’s Europa League victory over Rosenborg as the finest away performance in Europe since he took charge – whilst also predicting a special night in Glasgow on match-day six.
The Hoops went into tonight’s clash in Trondheim knowing they needed to collect all three points to realistically keep alive their hopes of reaching the last-32, and Scott Sinclair scored the crucial goal just before half-time after some brilliant build-up work from James Forrest.
And given Salzburg managed to see off Leipzig 1-0 in the group’s other tie, Celtic’s fate is very much in their own hands going into the final match at home to the Austrians next month.
Understandably, when facing the media after the full-time whistle, Rodgers was pretty delighted with his evening’s work:

Brendan Rodgers understandably delighted with his team tonight – “our best European performance, certainly away from home”. Admits final ball could’ve been better but can’t criticise the creativity. Full interview to come on @btsportfootball #Celtic

What do you make of the win, and do you think Celtic can go deep into this year’s competition?
