Celtic fans got a rare glimpse of defender Marvin Compper this evening – as he appeared as a pundit on German television during the Hoops’ Europa League tie with RB Leipzig.

The veteran centre-back was signed by Brendan Rodgers from tonight’s opponents for around £1 million back in January of this year, and he was expected to bring a bit of solidity and experience to the Celtic defence.

However, Compper has well and truly failed to make the grade, having played in just one competitive match, in the Scottish Cup against Greenock Morton.

But given his knowledge of both clubs, Koln-based Nitro TV employed Compper for tonight’s clash, and he was spotted giving his opinion on-air next to the Parkhead pitch before kick-off.

If you’re interested, you can watch Compper’s interview, which is in German, with Nitro here.

He’s spent more time on the TV than he has on the pitch this season, as he looks destined to leave Glasgow without making a solitary Premiership appearance.

What do you think of Compper’s failed stint?
