The Serie A champions needed to win tonight against Valencia in Turin to secure progression to the competition’s knockout phase, and a nervy first-half suggested it would be a long night for tense supporters inside the J Stadium.

Ronaldo broke a Juventus club record with his goal against SPAL at the weekend by reaching 10 goals faster than any other player, beating Pietro Anastasi’s record of 14 games back in 1968.
But he also knows how to be a team player too, and that’s his seventh assist of the current campaign.
Is he still one of the world’s best two or three players?
