Andy Halliday on Rangers Beating Celtic: Today Should’ve Been a Doing

Andy Halliday believes Rangers owed Celtic a doing for being on the receiving end of a few from their rivals in the past.

The Ibrox midfielder was thrown in as an auxiliary left back for the visit of Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops side this afternoon.

And he produced a quality performance alongside the rest of his teammates, with Ryan Jack’s only goal proving enough for them to get a 1-0 win and all three points.

Halliday had his name chanted by the home supporters towards the end of the game and that looked like it had a profound effect on him at the full-time whistle.

Post-match, Halliday spoke about it being the best day of his life and how he believes Rangers should have given Celtic a doing:

Halliday is a boyhood Rangers fan so you can only imagine how much that victory means to him.

His place in the Ibrox squad was previously called into question, but he’s proven his worth recently and now looks like an integral part of Steven Gerrard’s outfit.
