Both Rangers and Celtic Fans Unhappy with Appointed Officials for December 29 Clash

Both Celtic and Rangers supporters are pretty unhappy with the chosen officials for this month’s Old Firm match at Ibrox, after referee John Beaton was handed the responsibility of refereeing the powder-keg clash.

Steven Gerrard and his squad host Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops on December 29, as the Gers look to deliver the Northern Irishman his first defeat in the derby match since he arrived in Glasgow two-and-a-half years ago.

And as the two teams square-off, Beaton will be the man charged with the task of keeping order, and he’ll be joined by linesman Douglas Ross – the Tory MP who was caught on camera repeatedly screaming ‘red card’ after an apparent elbow by Jozo Simunovic in one of last season’s Old Firm games.

It’s set to be Beaton’s second time taking charge of the bitter derby after he made his bow in the fixture in April 2017, whilst Bobby Madden will be the fourth official, but judging by the reaction on social media, pretty much nobody is satisfied with the choices:

What do you think of the appointments? Would most fans moan regardless of who was chosen?
